Courses indicated as Tech-Prep are taught in collaboration with Sacred Heart University. Students receive three college credits for each successfully completes Tech-Prep.

Why Join The Academy?

        The Business & Finance Academy follows Bassick's state model, School to Career system of strong academics combined with real world learning.

        The Business & Finance Academy offers students a smaller learning community tailored to their individual interests.

        Federal studies show that smaller learning communities help students achieve academic growth.

        Academy students can earn up to nine college credits while at Bassick thanks to a tech prep partnership with Sacred Heart University.

        Academy students can earn a CISCO networking certificate, an internationally recognised computer networking certification.

 

School To Career

    The Business & Finance  Academy is based on Bassick's School To Career model. All students in the Academy will participate in activities that will help to connect their classroom learning to real world experiences in careers in the business & finance field. Students visit job sites, have internships, create career portfolios and have an opportunity to interact with business & finance professionals as a way of understanding the requirements for career success in their field.

 

Academy Students Go Places

    Students in the Business & Finance Academy have the opportunity to participate in internships, mentoring and job shadowing with many local and national companies. Business & Finance partners include: Unilever, Bodine Tools, People's Bank, NASDAQ and many others.

    Academy students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of state and national competitions.
