The Career Center
The College and Career Center provides students with the tools they need to navigate the world of work. Students are given personality and interest assessments to assist them with decisions about the kind of work that will best fit their personalities, interests and abilities. As sophomores, students are eligible to go job shadowing, make preliminary career choices and to select a career academy for 11th and 12th grades. The staff believes it is important for a student to dream big about the kind of work they want to devote their lives to while finding ways to problem solve the day to day, real world issues of academics, study habits and personal resilency in the face of hardship. The College and Career Center provides students with opportunities for job shadowing, internships, and field trips to work sites. The center also provides help with job applications, job and college searches, interview tips and resume writing assistance. Career Center staff are available for short term career counseling and frequently plan special programs and presentations to motivate and encourage a 'Yes, I can' attitude in each student who visits the College and Career Center.
