DEPARTMENT MISSION:
The Transitional Education Department is a
vocational and life skills program for intellectually disabled students. The
focus of our program is to teach these young adults the decision making, problem
solving, and interpersonal skills they need to be successful and functional
adults in today's society. We also strive to make these students aware of their
rites as an individual in a democratic society so they are able to become self
advocates. We do this through a variety of classes in job skills, basic reading,
basic math, and everyday life skills such as cooking, shopping, banking skills,
legal issues, and social skills.
